  5. Alamosa Mixed Martial Arts. This Fight Started with both fights coming out throwing some serious punches of which Larry Atkins got the better of the exchange. Both fighters clinched with Larry taking down Ryan Kreps. Kreps worked a good Jiu Jitsu game and put Larry in his guard. The fight was brought up standing and both fighters again exchanged punches with Larry Catching Ryan Kreps and knocking him out.
  6. Fight Five: Between Weston Victorino from Colorado BJJ from Denver, CO and Dusty Baughn from Alamosa Mixed Martial arts from Alamosa, CO. This fight didn’t was called before it started as Weston Victorino injured his hand during warm ups. This was to be a great fight as both fighters were evenly matched. Dusty Baughn was upset about not fighting but was worried about Weston’s hand. Great sportsmanship by both fighters.
  7. Fight six: Between Manual Tafoya from Five Rings fight Club out of Taos, NM and Adrian Ramirez out of Alamosa Mixed Martial Arts. This one great fight and Manual Tofoya and Adrian Ramirez both came out swinging and continue that pace thru three rounds with Adrian finishing the fight in the third round by TKO. Both of these fighters were exhausted and gave the crowd what they came for a good old Fashion fight.
  8. Fight Seven: Between James Mead out of Joint Forces from Colorado Springs and Local Fighter Eric Gallegos out of Alamosa Mixed Martial Arts. This fight was the Main Event and didn’t disappoint the fans. Round one started of with James throwing a Thai Kick and Eric taking him down. Eric worked a solid ground game and had James back for most of the round. Eric worked  for chokes but James was able to defend with round one ending in Eric’s favor. Round two was just as action packed as James took down Eric and started on of the best ground and pound attack’s I’ve seen opening a nasty cut on Eric’s eyebrow, Eric continued to fight and worked good from the ground. The round ended with James in control of the round and wining the round. Round three started of with a great takedown by James Mead, Eric was able to recover and work a good ground defense. James went for a Knee bar/toe hold combo and had it several times with Eric Defending and Landing punch to James ribs. The ref stood up the fighters in last minute with James looking to win the round Eric took him down as time expired. James Mead won the Split Decision. The best fight of the night by far.

The Show was a great success despite having two cards cancelled do to fighters not being able to make it over the pass on Friday night for weigh ins. We would like to thank the fighter and fans that came out to the event. The show was sold out.

Last night i had an opportunity to go to Alamosa for the Southern Colorado Championships. I must say it was one hell of a show, the set up of the event was awsome. Packed house and great fights, me and my buddy's all give major cudo's to Alamosa MMA. If Alamosa MMA throws another show i will be back, good job and thanks for a night of good fights and fun.

Huge congrats to Larry from PWIA and James from our sista school in COS. Larry's been living in trinidad for the last month but has done a great job of continuing the skills he has honed with us. Thanks to Nate Fernandez, and Mighty mouse Quintana for heading down and making sure he was cornered and taken care of!

Question: How did one fight stooped by illegal strikes to the head get called a "no contest", while the next was a disqualification?

Just wondering if anyone in attendance can elaborate on this.
