how the hell is Addie higher then Hubber?

MMAbuzz said:

Besides Huber being below Addie, I think the rest of the rankings are pretty good.

Personally, I had Tommy Thompson #1 in the amateurs and Alvin Robinson #1 in the pros.

Next up....the female fighters.......

^Mike was saying that if the fighter had fought at two weights recently he could be considered for both weights rankings.

dolla man, ya gotta take it for what it is, a compilation of public opinion. like sayin ya cant win lotto if ya dont play. only the people that actually vote are giving input. I was in one or another of em somewhere, just shrugged and oh well, whateva :)

MMAbuzz said:

The rule I was going by was if a fighter has fought at that weight in the last 6 months then I was including them. That goes for the term 'local' fighter also. Next time we do these Corey Hill won't be in the voting.

And I'm open for suggestions on how to make the rankings better.

No disrespect to the above Featherweight Pro's, but in my opinion Clint Godfrey deserves far better than #15. A notable credential is he is CFFC's bantamweight champion, a big time indy mma promotion on the east coast.
September 04, 2007

MMAbuzz said:

Clint Godfrey was a pretty late add, so not everyone got to vote for him the entire week. Next time I'm sure he'll be up on the charts.

mrmusclemaker said:

I agree JPonton. Godfrey is solid and I would personally put him up past the middle of the pack

Not gonna Lie i would gladly pay for a ticket to see Roller and Caudillo throw down. I like Caudillo but Brett is my boy. I would be With Brett Start to Stop. But anyone who has seen them both fight would have to agree that would be one to see.

mike, what does my guy have to do to get put up here? he just fought and beat nick bushman (for a title) and he has fought in the last 6 months prior to that? maybe after his next fight you will include him? LOL

I think it is great that Addie is higher then Huber. Nothing against Huber, but Addie has deserved it.

ChrisZacher said:

you're smoking crack man. How does Addie deserve it when addie lost to hubber?

you make no damn sense.

ilm72 said:

It doesn't matter if he lost to Huber... its how Addie fights.
September 05, 2007

ChrisZacher said:

How does it not matter he lost to him/ We are talking about rankings now right? No disrespect to him, but he obviously doesn't fight good enough to beat Hubber right? Obviously if we are doing this by "how he fights" which is just plain old silly, then shouldn't hubber be ranked above him because of how hubber controlled it on his feet, and hadd better subs then him?

Rankings are not about who you feel fights better, but who is the better fighter, and obviously hubber is.

ilm72 said:

I am not going to go back and forth. But obviously there is a reason why Addie is second and Huber is forth. Huber is obviously a great fighter to get fourth and i never once said that he was a bad fighter. They both did great in the last fight and congrats to Huber for winning, but as i said before, Addie deserves it 100%. Its all an opinion man.

ChrisZacher said:

Yeah it is all opinion I suppose, but it just doesn't make sense to me . oh well.

So now that I have finally got to watch the fight on youtube as I STILL don’t have a DVD a month later, I agree with everyone else on here. Honestly, I remember beating on Josh a lot more than I did. He was killin me on the feet, what the hell was I doing just throwing a big right cross for trying to knock the guy out, never even set anything up? Makes me feel like I need to go back to basics class or somethin! My take down into to crossed side was text book however, that is only b/c I was gettin punched in the head so much and I had to do something. Lookin back, he had great control from the bottom, I thought, or remembered droppin a lot more damage than I did, all though we have to admit, the ones I did drop looked pretty damn good if I do say so my self, but back to the point, he was working off his back very well, even while he was takin damage. Going into the second, I straight chased the take down, all those attempts and my final take down looked like poo, I deserved to get my arm cranked on for that slop. So I officially denounce my second place ranking, Josh deserves that s**t, he owned me! I am sure we will fight again and next time I will have to be prepared for his crazy ass hands and not underestimate him on the ground like I did. Josh, damn fine job man, best of luck to you on the 13th!

You are way off, and you rank the Springs area fighters too high. Example, How can Toner be ranked all the way down at #14, with an overall 8-1 record, while you rank your boy Roller at #3. FYI, Toner put Roller to sleep in 53 seconds of the first round. You might reconsider??????

MMAbuzz said:

Eh, these aren't exactly 'my' rankings. These are 'user' rankings. And I started to redo this recently but with all the shows going on the voting kinda got lost in the mix. Once the shows slow down we'll start voting again.

hey chomp these rankings were done last year bro and the roller, toner fight just recently happened about what a couple of months ago so take it easy. the rankings will be done again.

Chomp said:

Thanks for your work guys. There are plenty of great fighters coming out of this area, and certainly difficult to "rank". More shows on the horizon will make it even more difficult. I thought these rankings were more current, and so I'll look forward to your updates. They'll surely cause some good discussions and debates. Keep up the good work!

MMAbuzz said:

Let's be honest, those first rankings were very biased towards Colorado Springs fighters, seeing as this site was mostly built up of Colorado Springs users. Since then we have really hit the Denver market hard and I expect to see a BIG change in these.

Kinda crazy buy last month we had more hits from Denver area than we did from the Springs area...thanks to everyone up there for spreading the good word.

Paul Toner said:

Yeah I still check this site. I like you guys.

Brett - I saw you whoop on that dude in Pueblo. Straight nasty. I was watching the video, and was yelling, "Take his back... COME ON BRETT." And you did, and beat him with fire, nearly crushed his jaw w/ the first rear naked.

You fight like a banshee. And the break-dancing moves were sick.

Christian Allen should be high as hell... dude is a ninja.

Luke and Alvin are 155ers. Alvin didn't like cutting all that weight. Caudillo's huge. How the hell could he ever cut to 145? That has to be wrong. I think you should use only primary weights. I don't think we'll ever see Luke or Alvin at 145, again.

Colorado MMA is killing it. Lots of talent.

Wish you guys weren't so far away. We'd go party and talk shop.
