Is Matt Hughes Back?

According to a statement from Matt Hughes, the former UFC welterweight champion, Matt will fight 3 more times this year. In addition, Matt Hughes will fight Chris Lytle in March. Matt lost his belt to George St. Pierre at the UFC 65 bout by TKO in round 2.

Late last year, Matt announced he will fulfill his contract with the UFC and thus retire to spend more time with his family. Matt did not specify who the other two fights will be against, nor did he mention for which organization. It would be hard to believe Matt would retire in the prime of his game and/or fight for any other organization.

Not sure he went anywhere...........
I don't think Matt really went anywhere. There were a lot of rumors he was retiring (and probably started by something he said). Either way I look forward to seeing him fight again. I would love to see a Penn-Hughes rematch.

He would have abused him if he didn't get his rib all shot out. That is neither here nor there, and was still a great fight.Matt Hughes is and will be one of the best in that division for a longtime to come.
