... that is definitely some weak s**t to say. I bet if you ask that kid that Odell fought, he will say that Brendon felt a lot better/stronger than he did before. Brendon looked good in that fight, and just got caught. It happens. U probably won't hear anyone from the Tool Shed talkin crap on here, cuz they don't do that, but if you wanna say that Kongo Do is better, then have a team competition. School v.s. school. Bet it won't happen tho, cuz I can think of a few fighters over there at the tool shed that no one at kongo do could beat. Eric and Vellore would beat everyone at Kongo do, regardless of their weight. |

... Don't turn it into a team vs. team thing, I don't agree with the comments made, but from what I heard last night some of the kongo do guys were saying they heard Brendon was talkin a lot of smack before the fight and one comment in particular they heard, that he wished he was fighting better competition for the title, so I can understand the hard feelings, but regardless it was a good fight. Kyle controlled the first part, landed a nice shot and dropped Brendon, then Brendon got a quick triangle attempt and Kyle got a slam. Back to there feet and Kyle had a nice hip toss....then once they got standing again, Brendon landed some good shots and gave Kyle a flash knockout, but he recovered quick and got another takedown and then when they got standing again knocked him out very clean. It was a real good fight, hope there are no hard feelings on either side. I was really happy for Kyle cause he's been working really hard on his stand up game and it was a step up in competition. Great fight. Both sides. And I think people should have to log in to post comments so that people don't just talk without anybody knowing who's saying what, instead of it being listed as guest. |

... I agree with you on some things Kpeazy, but I think it is still unprofessional to say that right after a fight. I am not going to get into any he said she said stuff to takes sides at all. I would of said the same thing if teh roles were reversed (even though I know you didn't dirrect it towards me). I can for one thing assure you though, brendon wasn't taking him lightly, either way I think we both agree, if you are going to come on the site that is dedicated to the local MMA scene, and trash talk someoen, have the balls, or overies to say who you are (ala sandman also). If you just simply say who you are, and quit hiding behind IP adresses, then maybe, just maybe mind you, it woudl be taken more serioulsy. This s**t is rather f**king childish, and reminds me of how other popular MMA sites are filled with gimmick accounts, and posts that reek of 16 year old basement dwellings. Lets keep it real here people, I know in the past I spoke much critisism about what I didn't like in teh local scene, but I never trued to hide who I am at all. I may be a lot calmer now, but I still wont hide who am I. |

... I thought how I can state this better. I never got invovlved when two fighters here in town had their little beef on here, becase you know what? We kne who they were, and it was between them. I think everyone knows the two fighters I am talking about, but I am glad KPeazy is also speaking up, and that Kyle came on here and said he is not involved in the trash talking. If people would just come on themselves, then I woudln't speak up, because it woudl be between those two. |

... This is Vellore from the Tool Shed. We don't condone trash talk at our gym. We only want to be percieved as mature fighters with a professional attitude/demeanor. I was with Brendon almost the entire day of the fight, and I never heard him say anything about Kyle being a lesser fighter. He had much respect for the guy and was looking forward to the step up in competition. As far as I know, those guys liked eachother before the fight, and still do now. We as a gym don't have a problem with any other gym. When people come to our gym, we never bad mouth the other gyms in the springs. Brendon has gotten a lot better since coming to the gym, and I am sure that he will continue to grow as a fighter. He did a lot of good things in this fight, against a tough and game opponent. Now it's time to learn from it and move on. Please don't perpetuate trash talk on here. We don't want any part of it. V |

... Nicely said, good fight both ways, both guys were game, it was one of the most exciting fights on a really stacked card. Kongo Do is a good group of guys and fighters, Toolshed is a good group of guys and fighters as well. Keep training hard and putting on good shows, I know as a fan I really enjoy how good the local scene is getting and wish the best for all the local fighters regardless of affiliations, as people start moving up in competition and further with there careers I'll always be rooting for them if they are from the Springs. I'll always be rooting for Kyle just a little harder because when you know someone on a personal level you always want the best for them. I can't say it enough how impressed I was with the whole card. On the way home me and my friend couldn't quit talking about all the fights and the venue and the great show that Mr. Alley put on. Can't wait for the next local card! |

... First of all I DIDNT TALK SH*T. If you heard stuff from Kongodo guys look at the first post. I talk to very few people from that gym still. BUT I dont bad month any of them. I was talking to my coach Drew and V the entire time before the fights even started. we were not even talking about the fights, so nice try. Kyle and I talked before the fights and after the fights. N we are still friends and no hard feelings. N if it happens again we will go out there and give 110%. It was a great fight, and all I wanted to do, win or lose, was show people that I had gotten better. I have never been one to sh*t talk and anybody who has been around me knows this. Kyle congrats man, we both came out there and did our thing and the people cheered. We put on a good show for all the fans. If anyone has a problem with me pm me, or ask me, don't assume you heard from someone or something. IM NOT LIKE THAT.... I wanna thank everyone for coming out and cheering us all on. N thank you for the toolshed for coming out and showing me some love.. |

... Guys: In every fight there must be a winner and a loser. It's the nature of the game we play in. No one can say which camp is better because it's not the camps out there fighting, it's the individual. Fighters in the long run are judged not on individual performances but on the overall. Let's look at Brendon. On this particular night he lost the fight but he is 6-2 overall and is the Rocky Mountain States champion. This is something that nobody can take away from him. From what I've seen from Brendon he is going to learn from the mistakes and come back even stronger than before. I wouldn't be surprised if we had a future UFC contender on our hands. This is the amateurs, the time for making mistakes and finding what works for you. When you turn pro it starts fresh at 0-0. You never hear about Tito Ortiz's amateur record do you? From what I heard from MMAbuzz and Kpeazy, the entire card and the O'dell / Johnson fight was great. Brendon, don't let the nay sayers get to you. They are living through you because they can't or won't do it themselves. I can't comment on Kyle because I'm not familiar with him, but I wish him all the luck as well and hope to see great things from him. |

... Kyle and Brendon both came out looking better than I've ever seen them, and both fighters had the other in trouble at one point, but Kyle finished the round strong and caught Brendon backing up with his hands down. That's that. I know both of these guys. I have trained with them both (recently even) and I like them both. My opinion is that if the fight were to happen again tomorrow, the opposite outcome is just as likely. I do know that I never heard Brendon talk s**t about Kyle, and I know he absolutely did not take him lightly. On the flip side, I don't think Kyle took Brendon lightly, and I know he's been training his boxing skills harder than ever. I believe anyone trying to muster up sh*t is doing so without the approval of either camp, so do us all a favor and shut the f*** up. And my name's attached to this message, so if anyone's got beef, there's no mistaking who I am. As for the rest of the fights, congrats to all competitors. Things didn't turn out as I expected in several cases, but I know my friends who didn't win gave it their all. Honestly, seeing a good friend or valued team-mate lose is much harder than losing myself. Great job to all the competitors, thank you to the fans and sponsors who supported the event, and kudos to Steve Alley for a bang-up job all the way around. S. Perez |
