Kickdown 45: Hand vs. Mihalovich |
At the last Kick Down event, Kick Down 45, there was a fight between Ben Hand and Joseph Mihalovich and the result of that match got overlooked when I wrote my article of the show. I owe an apology to the two fighters and their teams. Please know that I offer no excuses for the oversight, only apologies. I know how much goes into a fight, not just from the fighters, but also from their teams families and friends. Certainly everyone that steps into an arena of combat deserves recognition for their sacrifices and I now give that recognition to the combatants.
The fighters were Ben Hand and Joseph Mihalovich and they competed in the eighth bout of the night. Hand started off with a strong right hand that let him set up and get a bodylock takedown. Once on the ground Hand landed a strong punch that seemed to hurt Mihalovich. At this point the combatants had gone under the bottom rope of the ring. When the referee stopped the fighters to reposition them in the center of the ring Mihalovich was unable to continue and Hand got the TKO win at :32 of round one.
