Mike's Show Notes:
- Best Kickdown I've been too, and you'll read why (eh, read the rest of the notes)
- LOVED...LOVED...LOVED..the cage. Soooo many reasons why, but mainly no 'ref stoppage, bring to ring, assume position, fight'. That's always a major buzzkill in a fight.
- Fight of the Night could of gone to a few bouts: Ingram/Cadeli (Caderli seemed to have control and all the sudden BAM armbar), Johnson/Honstein (I'd pay to watch these guys fight ANYTIME).
- What was missing from a typical Kickdown show: The female bout. Wish that could of happened, but injuries happen, no one can control that.
- The Blue Bulldog (brought out by Rude Effex) was friggin cool. I need to get me one of those.
- My 'Surprise' of the Night: I was really impressed with how Cody Combee did versus Robert Martinez. I'll be honest, when I saw that matchup I was like 'oh man' but Cody did really well against a very talented Martinez. Shows how much I know.
- Check the photo gallery for a picture of Steve Alley and his Dad. Really cool seeing those two together at a fight.
- Thanks to the Kickdown 'ushers'. The ladies helped me with getting the MMABuzz Section secured.
- MMABuzz Prize Pack winners. 1st place = Nick, 2nd Place = Seth. I'll be mailing those out to you guys this week.
- MMA Mountain unvelied thier new Local MMA Magazine. Looks great. Look for this magazine to be in print soon.
- The card featured only 1 debut fighter. I found that pretty cool. Glad to see some 'seasoned' fighters filling up a card.
- SPARTAN HOUSE!
- 'Nut Shot of the Night' - Brian Cristina delivers to Brett Schafer. Man, that sounded like a golf ball hitting a tin roof. My groin still hurts from seeing that.
- Whoever wrote 'U R a punk.' on my seat assignment sheet is in big trouble....big......

Jr. Lightweight is the title I vacated... I think it's like from 148-154.9. It's the weight class right under Lightweight.

A few quick thouts about what might have been my favorite Kickdown yet:

-The cage is great. Hello Hexagon goodbye ring.

-Bronkx v Lee was the best Muay Thai fight I've seen in years. Props to both guys fo bringin' the leather (and the chins).

-Nick Honstein: First, you're a great entertainer and good guy. second, what the hell was that "lomoplata"? I saw it live and watched the replay and it still blows my mind.

-Snyder v Douglass was a greta main even. Can't think of a better gift for Colby 3 week before the birth of his daughter than a well deserved title defense. Daniel fought hard and showed a lot of class. I don't care when or where this rematch takes place...I'll be there.

Overall a great show. Steve Alley continues to improve an already classy production.

I'll add my 'notes' to this post tomorrow. But, just have to say this was my personal favorite Kickdown I've been to.

The night was full of great fights (it was hard to pick Fight of the Night, 2nd place would have to go to Ingram/Caderli), surprising upsets (Sargent over Johnson) and the crowd was really into it (as always).

Thanks to the Kickdown promotion crew for putting this event together, well done. Oh, and it was really cool to get to sit by Steve Alley and his Dad. Gotta love seeing a family all come together for something like this.

I've posted my thoughts and opinions on MrWatchParty.com and on my MySpace blog. Thanks Steve Alley for having us up there once again.

For those that don't know Steve built that cage himself in his garage. I thought is was sturdy and looked great.

Actually regarding the Cage the welding and everything else was done by probably the finest welders in the state of Wyoming and they fabricated it etc. All I did was the padding after numerous do overs to get it "right". It seemed like I worked on it for a lifetime but about 3 to 4 months.

Thanks again..........glad you liked it

Mike, I want a redo of the raffle. If its the seth i know, then the only reason he bought a ticket was because he was suppose to roll with me but didn't. Since he didn't show I should win by default. Its cool if it is him, I am going to his house and going to beat him up and take it. Or sex him up and take it. Either way, I am taking it.
