Chris Woods will be an interesting fight to watch. He came down with a serious stomach sickness a while back which kept him out of fighting, and if I remember correctly the sickness caused him to loss a dramatic amount of weight, I believe once being at 150lbs. Hope you have that streaming live on the net again!

Dr et al. Big Chick was scheduled against Jon Alexander but Alexander got promoted in the oil field job he currently holds and could not get a "guarantee" of that date so the title bout is off for now. Alexander will be ready for the re-match of Mike Harmon September 27. We have been a little slow to get everything out there on this card but it looks like it could be a great card. Lots of injuries and unfortunate things happening out of and in the fight world. Just happy to have the support that the Kick Down receives from ALL of you and as always thanks to Mike Ruman. I sent Mike a message today that we will be providing a group of free tickets to the show so stay posted here at MMA BUZZ. Chris Woods and Sebastian Puente will live up to the billing. Isaac Colon vs Frank Morris, Cody Fredrickson one of the new up and comers and current champion vs Art Brown from Casper. Several new comers to the show....should be solid. Still looking to fill 145 debut and 185 debut and a one or two fight veteran at 185 as well.........other than that the card is set. Thanks again. Steve Alley Kick Down MMA

Also its nice to see isaac back, that fight between him and holnsten was amazing...
Looks to be a great show once angain Steve.. good Job!

What happen to thr Robert Martinez vs Jeremy Malaterre fight??

The Gumm camp is looking to really see where Malaterre should be best at and think (I agree) that 155 lbs is a better fit for him. Malaterre wanted the fight and becasue of some circumstances etc the fight was just taken off and I/we just let Robert know and he has confirmed he will be back for the year ending show November 1st. I do agree with you............Colon vs Morris will be a good one with Morris trying to help avenge the onlt blemish on Nick Honsteins record (He lost to Colon as an amatuer) for the 135 class this should be a stellar fight. Another very good card, but what else would you expect from one of the best and most consistent promotions in the state. The main event could be a war.

I predict bith Honstein and Malatare are names you will see in the future on "bigger" cards (absolutely no offense intended to Kickdown). Both will be able to say they got their carreers started with Steve Alley's Kickdown.

Steve,
Sorry to hear this was a challange to put together. I think I can safely say you are easily one of if not the most popular promoters in the MMA community. Appreciated and respected as well.
Best wishes on this event and many more to come.

I will say this again to you Mr Muscle and all. I appreciate the kinds words and it is really good to know that there are a group of people that support and send their best wishes. I never have any real problem with the shows here or in Casper Wyoming as far as the day to day aspects of the operation etc. My challenge has been on a personal side as a close member of my family is due to pass away any day, week, etc (Cancer). I am usually a private person and would never make any excuses for my short comings but in this case it is different. It saddens me to see my Sister and others suffer and hurt with the knowledge that someone (only 57) will not be here to even see the next Kick Down or walk with his wife, kids, friends. Painfully it is something that everyone must eventually deal with and there is nothing special in this case except for just knowing you lose a friend that has been a part of your life for 30 plus years. So on that note we can do the best we can say some prayers and really appreciate those that always support and send their best (like yourself and others in this case)and know that where there is life there is hope for all things.
I love this sport and the promotion part and it is those such as yourself, Dr, Mike, Peazy, Shannon, and on and on and on that make it all worth every minute spent. I look forward to this upcoming event because there will be new and interesting things to look forward to. Thanks again for the support. Steve Alley

Everyone at The Defense Institute has you and your family in their prayers. It is always a loss when anyone passes away from such a disasterous disease. This is only compounded when they are so young.

If there is anything that we can do for you down here in Colorado Springs please don't hesitate to call. My thought are with you my friend.

Sincerely:

I wanted to once again thank those that sent their support. I will remember my friend of 30 plus years for the 2 Super Bowls we watched together in person when Denver won their only world titles. The numerous rounds of Golf and friendship and countless other things shared. I will remember the specific group that made me feel a little better with their well wishes. Dr, Eric,KP and all. My pal passed away this morning and I will miss him. Thank you for the kindness as always. Steve Alley

My friend just recently passed away, also of cancer, he to in his mid 50's .. (way to early) .. so I definitely feel what you are going through. I still miss him, and its been a little over a year now, but I focus on the good times that we had, and I remember those. Easier said then done though. If you need anything, help with the show, let me know, if I can do anything to give you more time to do what you need to do, let me know, and that isn't just lip service. You have my email, and I have offered before, and been a little hesitant, cause you said I might not see the show if I worked it, but in this case, let me know what you need. I know I haven't known you long, but it doesn't take someone a long time to know that you are a good and honest person. So, my thoughts and prayers will be with you, and let me know what I can do.

Steve,

My condolences. I am sorry for your loss. I know only too well what you are going through. It is times like these that make you realize how unimportant the daily grind of the fight world really is.

In the end, family is truly all we really have in life. That is what makes it so painful when we lose someone so close.

You and I have been around the block a time or two, and If I can be of help at this time, please let me know.

Respectfully,
Sven Bean

Once again thanks to all that have been so kind with their well wishes. I feel better knowing that there are people that do really care and send their support. It happened so quik that it takes you by surpise even though in your heart you try and prepare for the worst. I/we will concentrate on what this great site was meant to cover and that is MMA and related. As I said before I will miss my great friend but it makes me feel better that there were those that even took a moment to send their best. Steve Alley

Steve talked about webcasting it himself as a PPV. I would do it (with Steve's blessing)if he doesn't but that would require some sponsors getting on board. I had to pay for the last one myself. Can't do that anymore...

Due to some personal issues and just not being able to handle a miriad of things there will be no free or Pay Per View on this show. Hopefully we can stream some of the fights on the site at kickdownmma.com or on Shannons site. Solid card with a mix of everything. New comers to the show and 3 titles. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Colon is one tough fighter, might in fact be very underrated in my opinion. I'm looking forward to this fight, Colon has been off for some time however, the guy has a ton of fights under his belt so I don't think ring rust will be a factor in this fight. One other thing to mention is Colon has some great hands and we know Honstiens school has some great ground. I wouldn't be surprised if Colon keeps this one up, but he has great ground as well and should be comfortable anywhere this fight goes. I'd wish him luck, but I don't believe in much luck when it comes to a fight.

Yea, its gonna be nice to see Chris in there again. Plus we get to see his younger brother (a 145 lb version of Chris) get in there and mix it up a bit. We actually have 3 guys representing Alota Kombat that night so it should be a good time. I can't wait to see Chris back in there!

Although I worry about my son's mixing it up... I am confident in putting that aside for what makes them happy. Chris had a long battle with some stomach issues that seem to be well under control and I believe, he will put on a great show. This will be the first fight for Terry and I would be willing to bet he will do well also. Godspeed to my sons!
