... Hey nasTY, how's it goin? In answer to your question, I've been training my but off lately. I've been lifting hard (I've never really lifted heheh) and I just joined the Kai up here. Only problem is, I still have to get the plate taken out of my hand in a couple weeks. And when that happens, it's about a 6 week recovery time. So it's a looooong long process, but I should be back in the ring in about 1 1/2 - 2 months. P.S. Injuries suck. |

... so i know a lot of people may be saying that corey hill is ranked #1 cause of popularity which may be true the only person on that list that i think would have an okay shot against corey maybe is cerrone to be honest i have never actually seen him fight.. but just from training and sparring with corey i would have to consider him the best i am not the best but against murrillo i felt i did pretty well at some points i felt i even dominated the fight.. murillo beat holdorf and cameron beat murillo and i think cameron would agree with me that corey is a better fighter than both of us... i also dont think people understand the diffference in the skill level that corey was fighting on the show and the skill level that just colorado is at dont get me wrong but co. is hitting the map hard and producing some top level fighters but we are just one of 50 state lets think about that... Also 80 percent of the fighters on the show cut from about 180 pounds and were all top level fighters corey is a top level fighter and i bet if he got in the ring with any of the guys on that list he would dominate more than half of them and would more than likely beat the rest. just my opinion... but for the rest of the lists some things may be messed up but people have only seen a couple of these fighters fight and these rankings will get better with time as will the fighters especially if they have something to prove. Also alot of people will base these records off of fc fighter which is extremely wrong... they are still marking my fights as an amature and i have been fighting pro since i was i utah... also if you look at some of our amatures they have pro records wierd but it just depends on what the promoter sends to fcfighter... |

... I've sparred many times with Donnie Cerrone and I've seen Corey train a few. I would have to give it to Donnie hands down. Nothing against Corey, but Donnie's standup is phenominal and his ground game is almost at the same level. This is a fight I would love to see after this matchup COREY HILL vs TYLER "SHORTY" FREELAND We just need to see Shorty go Pro. |

... Truth of the matter is...........no doubt in my mind that Eric and I should go number one and number two on the Amateur side. Some guest posted that they think that me goin number one is way off. How so? And by the way, I'm not positive but I think that Eric and I have same number of fights. He might have me by one. He has a better record, and without a doubt has a more exciting fighting style than I do, but I personally believe that the first five ammys is pretty accurate, besides Eric being number three. For the record, I would have not blinked twice at the poll giving Eric the number one spot, but he and I should definitely be one and two respectively. That being said, it's a poll and it's what the people think. Thanks to all of the people who voted for me to be number one. I appreciate it, and to all the nay sayers, hopefully I can show you what I'm made of........take that back. Thanks to training partners like Donnie, Keith, Eric, Tori, Jacob, and Owen, I WILL show you what I'm made of.........soon!!! |

... Man this poll s**t is hillarious how it gets everyone riled up whats funny is half of these people dont even live here any more i remember back in the day training with cory him and i would go neck and neck there was times he tapped me and very few times i tapped him im not gonna lie cory is one guy that i look up to and deserves to be were he his not only that he has a work ethic like no other that i have seen and a competition state of mind that is un real. I personally believe that he should have made it to the finals on that show fighting is so much mental its not even funny any ways enough about that i do think cory is number one but these polls are a crack up |

... I personally would vote for Eric at number one for ammy, and Stonehouse for number two. Eric is listed as 8-1 on full contact fighter, and Vellore is listed as 2-2, fyi. Eric has fought tough opponents, Vellore has not really, with a few exceptions. |

... I think that 2-2 is not accurate mr guest. Actually I am not so sure the 8-1 is either. I won't argue who should be first but i will disagree about Vellore facing tough fighters. Because you are a guest there is no way to guage your knopwledge of the sport. I would guess minimal by your post however. Trust me these guys are both tough as nails. If i were a ammy fighter in this weight class they are who i would be gunning for to make a statement. |

... Vellore is not a top local fighter, regardless of what he says to the contrary. I wish people would stop buying in to all of this self marketing an actually look at the skill level of the fighters in question, for once. |

I make my statements on here and hide behind nothing or no one. I stand by them and i am easy to identify. I say Vellore is a top notch ammy. So are most of the top ranked ammys and if you are gonna dog them. Nut up and and say who you are at least. |

... If you are familiar with the fight game, then you know that matching fights involves many things, ie timing, other obligations, injuries, etc. For the record, the only fights I have ever turned down, were tough guys that I didn't feel I had enough time to train for (last minute changes of opponents), and guys I didn't see the point in fighting......no disrespect. It saddens me that people respond the way they do to something this trivial. Not for much longer will you be able to debate whether I am a top notch ammy, cuz I am going pro, and when I do I can only hope to silence some of the critics. One good thing is, I don't fight for the critics, don't train with the critics, and don't respect the critics(most of them). The reason for that is that most of them talk about it while I live it. Where were the critics when I was struggling to cut weight, or stuck in a rut with a certain technique, or mental attitude? Probably on their couch writing bad stuff about good fighters. You know who was there though? My coaches, teammates, family, friends, and fans. So it is for them that I fight, and myself of course. To the guest that says I'm no good, stop by the Tool Shed sometime and find out if that's true. Thanks again MMABUZZ for chosing me #1. Vellore |

... There's a difference between critics and trash talkers. Critic's can be respectful, but yet still give opinions with tact. In my opinion I do have Eric ranked over you. No insult at all, that's just my opinion, and I hope you don't take that as me insulting you or your charachter. I do train, and I must say I train pretty damn hard, but it should not be a requirment to be able to critque. Critics are actually important in the sport, and they often help spark the debate that lead to many important match ups in MMA. Now trash talking is a whole other thing. I just wanted to say that in case you were offended by my opinion which I felt I gave pretty politely. |

... I think that anyone in the top 5 could be in any order. Eric and I had 2 good fights, anyone that watched the first fight can see that it could have went either way. the second fight was an all around s**tty fight.. Yeah he has the wins, so I'm not taking anything from him. Oh well.. I don't fight at lightweight. As far as Vellore, I have never heard anything bad about him at all and have only heard good things about him and his fighting, so from what I have heard, yeah he deserves to be there as well. Ian is a cool guy, fights hard and he deserves it too.. It there was a tournament and the top 5 or 6 were put in there, yeah I would say anyone could make the finals. I don't think any real fighter or competitor ducks anyone, I think like Vellore said there are many reasons you don't fight someone, if it works out good, if not, move on.. I'd rather wait and fight a tough opponent sometimes then fight someone that is going to just "PAD" my record. It doesn't matter how good your record is if you haven't fought anyone and it's been in the backyard and crap. Prime expample, look at Shonie Carter's record on FCFIGHTER.COM, his first 20 fights were against no bodies, in a casino. Hope all is well with anyone, appreciate the votes, and look forward to fighting in the future. Like I said, the top 4 could go anyway and we all think we should be number 1, we wouldn't be competitors if we didn't |

... I agree with Chris, this is a public forum and criticism sparks debates which may lead to better fight cards. My comment was in regards to the "he can't even get a fight lately" remark. I am intimately familiar with the local fight scene, and happen to know that several people are looking to get a fight with Vellore, because he is a belt holder and a good fighter. That being said, best of luck with the pro debut Vellore! Spencer Hooker |

... Hey just thought I would drop in and add a few lines. Wanted to let the people with the strong opinions about how bad a fighter Vellore or Eric are, like Vellore said you are more than welcome to come by the gym and test how good you are against them and the rest of the gym. Vellore is 9-4 and Eric is 11-1 There are a lot of tuff guys and great gyms in Colorado and around the United States I have respect for ALL of you that get in there and go for it, my hat is off to you. It is not the critic who counts, or how the strongman stumbled and fell, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, and who spends himself in a worthy cause. If he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that he may never be one of those cold and timid souls, who know neither victory nor defeat. -Theodore Roosevelt The strong opinionated, it shows how weak you really are. |

... Stonecoldkilla: I say that because I'm in the military and I'm always in the field or in Iraq (leaving again in December). I've actually showed a lot of respect to a couple of fighters by turning down fights with them. What I was saying by turning it down was that my schedule hasn't permitted me the ability to train like I should for a fighter of your caliber. Not to say I don't think I could beat them, but not in half good shape. Don't make me seem like the kind of guy that thinks someone isn't worthy of a fight with me. Believe me, anyone who's trained at my gym before will tell you that we don't get down like that. I'm honored by anyone who gives me the time of day when it comes to this fight thing. Some fights I just don't wanna do. If my teammate who I go very hard with (gotta come to the gym if you wanna know who wins) has beat them already, I'm not in a hurry to fight them. If they have been to the gym and trained several times with us and I know their strengths and I'm not too concerned.....I don't wanna fight them. Doesn't mean I respect them any less. I think they are great fighters and maybe when a check is involved, I'll do it. I'm blessed to have the ability to train and fight, to have the team I have, and to have all of you guys to keep me grounded. Keep it up guys. Thanks |

... mmabuzz, Those are all fights that could possibly happen down the line. If you weren't aware, I've lost to Luke already......twice. I make no excuses, but as a pro, that's a fight I'd love to revisit. Not real hungry for it though. He came by the gym the other night and trained with us, so who knows, maybe he'll be an affiliate and we won't fight eachother again. Either way is cool with me. Luke is a great guy and has always been a class act to me. Cameron will come I'm sure. He had such a good rivalry with Eric, that one is kind of a given. Noah- trains with us from time to time too, so we'll see. Much respect to everyone mentioned. Good luck in your training. Stay injury free. Vellore |

... I was thinking about how I was going to word this while i was in the shower this morning, and driving to work. I think the best critics are the ones who use constructive criticism. it's all a series of checks and balances in my opinion. I have been know to get pretty rilled up on certain subjects (not this one), but the main reason I do is because I think over all, what got me rilled up is generally bad for the sport. I have a passion for this sport, and a hunger for as much knowledge my pee body brain can handle. I guess the best way is the fighters go put it on the line, and the fans(which I will touch up on later) kind of grade what's going on. There are four type of critics in my opinion. A)The Neutral one who just kind of stays in the middle, really doesn't want to offend anyone while giving his opinion, so sometimes he keeps it to himself. B)The positive one, who never says anything bad, everything is upbeat, and rather comment on the pluses the MMA scene has done recently, rather then the negative. C)The Negative one, the one who feels they have to confront what they feel has been done wrong in the sport, and demand actions be taken to fix it, so critic B can comment on it. Now his isn't negative about a fighters performance, but rather actions taken that could make the sport look bad. D)The Keyboard Warrior, aka Sneaky Ninja's, The guy who was to type s**t like "You suck the big one, PWN!!!111!!!!111!!1" Now in my honest opinion critics A, B, and C have a place in MMA, and a fighter should respect that, as should the critics respect the fighters. Now myself, I am a good mix of mostly C, along with a dash of A now. I know, maybe some folks are thinking "isn't this the douche who rights the Zacher Factor and pissed of Ransom to no level?" Well yeah thats me, but the whole Zacher Factor thing was, and still kind of it, something that was started to spark debate. Was it retard, and is it still kind of? Yeah, but it's damn well fun to write while pretending I am Howard Stern. I know find myself being a mix of C and A like I said. The A type critic mostly because now I find my self sometimes commentating, and wanting to do it more, along with doing write ups. I now avoid giving my opinions who I will think wins a upcoming local fight, or anything involved with a local fighter, unless they do something that brings the C Critic out in me. I still talk about local fights amongst friends, and I usually say then who I think is going to win. I guess what i am trying to say is, igno9re the critics who are just jerk offs, and give the time of day to the ones who count. if you feel someone has their facts wrong, try to correct them, and if that didn't work, just ignore them. But never forget that some want to do good to the sport like many many fighters do. |
