Just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It's been a great 2007 and we're all looking forward to an amazing 2008.

Some of my highlights from 2007:

• Local fighters Corey Hill and Noah Thomas making The Ultimate Fighter 5 reality show -  A quick update on both of these fighters. Corey Hill will be fighting in the UFC and Ultimate Fight Night January 23rd. Noah Thomas is recovering from an injury but promises to be back in 2008.
• The rise of local MMA. We first started covering shows in October of 2006. Back then there would be two shows a month.....maybe. Now it seems we have two shows a weekend. Good to see so many new and talented fighters in the local scene.
• The BUZZ Podcast -  This has been a new venture here and so far it's gotten some pretty positive feedback. We hope to do more of these (and more oftern).
• Female MMA -  The local females have made a statement here in local MMA that they are here...and here to say. I'm looking forward to seeing more females on more global cards. These chicks can fight!
• The overall talent level of local fighters -  Let's be honest. Not much more than a year ago you would see a fighter get trapped in an armbar and you knew the fight was over...not so much anymore. Seems more and more fighters are taking the submission game seriously and in turn learning how to defend some basic submissions. This seems to have led more and more technical fights on the local scene.

I AM VERY DETURMINED TO BE THE BEST BUT AT THE SAME TIME DO IT WHILE MOVING DOWN TO LIGHT HEAVY WITH THE HELP FROM MY GOOD FRIEND AND TRAINER NEIL KIRBY FROM MMANIMAL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING. 07 WAS A GREAT YEAR.
