SHOW NOTES
•    UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra was in attendance. He was the most fan-friendly fighter I have ever been around. All throughout the night people were coming up to him for photos, autographs, and conversations and not once did I hear him turn anyone away. Very cool to see.
•    After James ‘Ain’t No Joke’ Funny won his co-main event bout he announced the Headhunters Fight Team was no more. They have merged with the Colorado Fight Factory in Colorado Springs. Look out for this gym!
•    Luke ‘Lil’ Hulk’ Caudillo was also in attendance. He will be fighting in the UFC on UFC 78: “Validation” on Saturday, November 17. His opponent will be Marcus Aurelio. Good luck Luke!
•    The total evening was a huge success for Round 1. The venue was well setup, the crowd was electric (especially for Brett ‘The Hitman’ Roller), MC’s (Eric Lalone and Rob Archuletta) were on point, security was handled well, and the beer was cold (or so I was told). Congrats to Brian Lee.
•    A lot of solid debut fighters showed how MMA is growing. One thing I’ve really noticed since I started covering shows is how much submission defenses have improved. It used to be as soon as a guy was in a choke it was over. But, now fighters are understanding to relax, access the situation, listen to their corner, and get out of the choke. This helps explain why so many of the fights went to a decision.

Great show, I totally had a blast

my out look on some things

-all fights that went to a JD were entertaining, and fun to watch

-thre three new Agoge fighters, John Ford, Harred Lesnick, and Joey Eisenbraun looked very good in their debutmatches

the Aldaco vs Odnonnel fight was fun until the injury.

-Huber's stand up looked very good, and got him the KO.

Jamie Schmidt looked good, and had a nice top side triangle.

The Roller ifhgt had everyone in the crowd in it, and Roller, being the underdog, walked away holding on to his belt. This fight just opened a s**t load of doors for him now.

I didn't get a chance to watch a lot of the fights but I did notice how well the crowd took to Matt Serra and especially how he took to the crowd.

He never turned anyone down for an autograph, photo or just small talk. Matt is truly an example of how hig-profile professional athletes should act!

I am proud to have been a part of his appearance here.

I did want to thank Matt, Adam and Kate Martinez, Brian Lee and everybody else who helped to make this event a fundraiser for Tyler Carron and Nikko Landeros.

I think they both enjoyed sitting and chatting with Matt throughout the night and their families were very grateful to the MMA community for having them there.

Thanks to all of you who don't just care about money and things but care about people. You are the best.

It was great to see Jamie Schmidt put on such a dominating performance even after Bobay weighed in 10 pounds over!! Look out for this kid. Also the Josh Huber fight was good. that kid has some dangerous hooks. It's always exciting watching that kid fight. It is too bad so many am's showed up out of shape. Ohana recieved a pretty severe ass whooping but showed a lot of heart, better luck next time guys.

In Bobay's defense, there was a miscommunication about the weight that he was supposed to come in at. 160 or 155. Either way they were fined for the extra weight so everything was considered equal going into the fight.

BTW what do people think about Roller's future now? You all think he should try fighting in bigger shows now, or still get some more pro fights in local CO shows?

Word was Hey would be fighting in the WEC if he would of won, btu obviously he didn't.

I think the first think Roller should do is gets some leg implants so he won't be stuck walking around at 4 ft feet of his life.

Bobay's weight was absolutely due to a miscommunication. He had agreed to fight at 165 months earlier and was operating under the assumption that when Schmidt was named as a replacement opponent, the weight was staying the same. When they complained, Adam cut to 161. Frankly, I was surprised that Infinity made such a big deal about 6 pounds, but to each their own.

Firsty off, I want to start by saying I was very impressed by the sportsmanship of Aldaco and his crew. Andrew and his team showed a lot of sincerity towards the injury of Vince and were geat sports. Thanks guys!!!

To all the poeple out there that AGAIN doubted my boy B. Roller, and you know who you are...... cough cough ZACHER (lol), well, I don't even need to go there. All that matters is Brett walked away with the "W", and got it in an impressive fashion.

All in all, it was a great night. Thanks to every one who came and supported the K.O.S. team!

Most def one of the times I wanted to be wrong if you know what I mean, and I am happy I was.

I think that what got Brett ahead in that fight was him utuilizing all of the tools needed in MMA. Knees, working of his back, ect ect, while all hey seemed to use was his wrestling, which I feel a lot of wrestlers do.

I was talking to someone who was happy with Roller winning last night (as I was, but I know I will get s**t forever, lol) who brought up something that I agree with. They said..

"I am tired of seeing wrestlers come into this sport thinking that is all it takes."

that pretty much sums it up in a nut shell. You need to put the work in to adapt into this thing of ours.

I agree with you Jack, I think a lot of people counted Brett out. The kid has the heart of a champion and represents this sport well. It was great to see him win last night, especially against such a competitor as well respected as Hey.

Overall a great night of fights and from what I've heard from the fans they all enjoyed themselves too.

Yeah, i total agree. Brett has been putting a lot of focus on his stand up, and that was the game plan at first, to keep the fight standing up. Plus, I don't think that Hey has faught anyone on Brett's level and with his knowledge of wrestleing. I know he has wrestled with guys as good, if not better, but like you said, THIS IS MMA!!!!

Like mike said, Brett's good peeps, and makes the sport look good, well from the 4ft and down level...joke

Hats off to Jamie. That dude was stout. By far stronger and more skilled than anybody i've ever fought. No excuses, there was no escaping that triangle. I tried to wrap my legs around him and instead pulled him right on top of me. I didnt follow Spence and I's game plan and it showed. And I as told it was 165
which I weighed on the dot. But I did get down to 161.5 that night.

The next fighter I'd love to see do a seminar here in Colorado....Mr.Chuck Norris..kidding...I'd personally like to see Jeremy Horn, but would settle with just about anyone.
