Colorado Springs, CO – It was a cold winter night in Colorado Springs for Tap or Snap: Ablaze. The die-hard MMA fans were out in full force to root on the fighters. Tap or Snap featured 11 MMA fights, 10 amateurs and 1 pro fight. Our thanks to the Round 1 promotions for putting this fight on. They continue to improve the setting with each fight, nice work guys!

Chris Owens vs. Kevin Carter
Carter started the fight off with some strong leg kicks. The leg kicks
set up Carters striking which he used to eventually take down Owens.
While on the ground Carter was able to put Owens in a guillotine choke.
Carter wins via guillotine choke Round 1, time (est) 1:00 (official time not announced).
Aaron Clum vs. Tony Tyree
Clum came out and landed some leg kicks. The fighters ended up on the
ground and Tyree attempted a choke. Clum used his defense to get him
side control. The fighters were stood up and Clum continued to land leg
kicks. In round two Clum came out with a slam. Both fighters made it
back to their feet and heavy blows were exchanged. Clum had a takedown
and put Tyree in a guillotine choke.
Clum wins via guillotine choke, Round 2, 30 seconds.
Kevin Velasquez vs. Justin Hudson
Hudson came out swinging, and ended up taking Velasquez down. Hudson
took side control and moved quickly to Velasquez’s’ back. Hudson then
connected on several hard shots while having back control.
Hudson wins via ref stoppage due to strikes, Round 1 1:11.
Aaron Beetle vs. Dwan West
West came out looking to push the action. The fight went to the ground
where Beetle took the mount. West ended up getting a reversal and had
Beetle in the mount. West proceeded to put the guillotine choke on
Beetle as the bell sounded for the end of round one. Beetle started
round two off with some solid leg kicks. The fight again went to the
ground and both fighters fought hard for the mount. The fight was stood
up and Beetle landed a solid back fist and followed that up by a few
combos as the bell sounded for round two. Round three began with a slam
by Beetle but West was able to pull Beetle down to the ground with him.
While on the ground West was able to punch his way to a ref stoppage.
West wins via TKO, Round 3 2:11
Kenny May vs. Joe Robinson
Robinson took May down early and but May was able to get Robinson in a
guillotine choke. Robinson fought through the submission attempt and
was able to get top mount and delivered some GNP from above. Robinson
was then able to put May in a rear naked choke as the bell sounded to
end the round. Robinson started off round two with a slam. May was able
to gain top mount and put Robinson in a choke.
May winner via TKO, Round 2 1:19
Christopher Wright vs. Chad York
Both fighters came out swinging. York landed a few hard shots that
seemed to stun Wright. Sensing this York began attacking with blow
after blow. York then landed a right cross that knocked out Wright.
York wins via knockout, Round 1 43 seconds.
Matt Rodan vs. Justin Anderson
Both fighters came out swinging. Anderson was able to connect with his
punches and set Rodan up for a takedown and put him in guillotine choke.
Anderson winner via guilt on choke, Round 1 16 seconds.
Cameron Dollar vs. Mike Aragon
Lightweight Title Fight
Dollar landed a few leg kicks that set up his right hook that dropped
Aragon. Dollar jumped on Aragon and delivered several more blows to the
head as the ref stepped in.
Dollar wins via TKO, Round 1 18 seconds
Frankie McIvery vs. Steve Fetty
Middleweight Title Fight
Fetty came out looking to push the action. Both fighters delivered
strikes before Fetty took McIvery to the ground. Fetty had top mount
but McIvery was able to pull a reversal and he took the mount. While
McIvery was had the mount he was able to deliver some elbows and
strikes before the red stopped this fight.
McIvery wins via ref stoppage due to strikes, Round 1 1:33
Ryan Cate vs. Aaron Truxcell
Light Heavyweight Title Fight
As soon as the gloves were touched the fists began flying. Truxcell
caught Cate with a right that sent him to the ground. Cate was then
able to land a few more strikes before this fight was stopped.
Truxcell wins via TKO, Round 1 6 seconds.
Vinnie Vigil vs. Adam Bobay
This was the first pro fight at a Tap or Snap. Both of the fighters
know each other very well and they delivered a great fight for the
crowd.
The fight started out with some strikes that were landed by both
fighters. Bobay was then able to take Vigil down and took the mount.
After a few choke attempts Bobay stood up and let Vigil stand also.
Vigil landed a few more strikes as Bobay threw the leg kicks. Vigil was
able to stun Bobay with a right, both fighters ended up on the ground
where Vigil was able to administer the guillotine choke.
