Here are some highlights from
Episode 4 of The Ultimate Fighter 5®
- "Wayne Weems is very behind" according to
Coach Pulver. Weems teammates question his skills, stamina, and determination.
Jens calls him out and pushes him to work harder.
- Gabe tells Coach BJ Penn that he wants to fight Weems.
Gabe's teammates think he is taking the easy way out by picking on the
weaker fighters.
- Brandon Melendez tells Jens that he wants to fight next,
despite his foot injury.
- Marlon "Mr. Indestructible" tells stories
about the 100+ street fights he's been in. Sometimes taking on 5 guys at
once. Well, the audience voted and WE BELIEVE HIM!!!!
- Fight announcement: Andy Wang vs. Brandon Melendez
- Gabe (who cornered Wang at his last fight) tells BJ
Penn that Wang doesn't listen to his corner and will fight his own game.
- Matt Hughes makes a special guest appearance and takes
over practice for Jens. He takes Brandon under his wing and works with him
one on one.
- FIGHT
- RD 1 - Standup battle. Wang doesn't shoot at Melendez
even though you can clearly hear BJ yell 'ANDY, TAKE HIM DOWN!!!'
- Melendez lands some solid strikes, heavy leg kicks,
and a big left that knocks Andy down.
- RD 2 - Wang shows a lot of heart and continues to take
hits by Melendez. Wang STILL does not get the takedown (or even tries).
- Melendez wins a unanimous decision.
- After the fight Andy looses it and begins to cry. BJ
(who is furious at Andy for not listening to him) does not give ANY sympathy
to Andy. He says 'He (Andy) thinks he's the greatest thing since Bruce
Lee.'
- PREVIEW for next week: Corey Hill vs. Gabe Reudiger (if
Gabe makes weight). Good luck Corey!!!
