Usually they don't have a lot of options with the first contract and the UFC bullies them into signed long term contracts for peanuts instead of giving them like a 3 fight deal where if they do win all three they can come back and pay them more. |

... exactly, they sign the guys they don't see as having a lot of potential to 3 fight deals and guys with potential to longer term deals so they lock them in at that lower rate. They would have to pay too much if they gave the up and coming stars 3 fight deals and had to renegotiate after that. |

... If you think from the business side of things its simple. Pay the least possible amount while still being able to make the highest possible amount. I don't really read what others say, its just my opinion. IMO if KOS is fighting someone that is making $140K and he's making $10K its a mismatch, just like weight. |
