hell yeah Andrew Aldaco and John Cronk number 1.
now we gotta prove it...

I'd love to see Aldaco-Jackson meet up.

It's cool to know we'll be seeing the #1 and #3 ranked PRO fighters meet up next month.

I have to say, I like this weeks rankings, good job folks.

But, one guy who was robbed is Brandon Thatch, who fights mainly on Ring of Fire, the kid is good.

KPEAZY said:

I agree with Thatch getting robbed, but overall the lists look pretty solid. Wish I would have got my vote in...lol

i agree with the thatch ranking.. he's good. I'ts possibly due to the rarity of his fights. Since it's a voting done by all of the mmabuzz community, he's not fresh in our minds. He's 2-0 and fighting in the next ring of fire. We shall see if he goes 3-0

..same goes with gabe. I think he's badass as well! I should be behind those badass fighters :)

Doesn't Jackson have only three fights? wtf

Don't know if UJackson has had 3 fights or not. I do know he is na good fighter and tough. And no he is not one of my guys . Just stating the facts.

mrmusclemaker said:

The top 3 pros are in my opinion close. I have to say Ludwig is bad ass tho.

MMAbuzz said:

I like where Jackson is at on the rankings, even with only 3 fights. He showed me a lot in those fights and I'm sure he's just getting started. His fight with Frankie would have showed me a lot more, maybe we can get that Aldaco-Jackson matchup on a card....*hint*...promoters??

If i was a fight maker I would love to see Jackson -Thatch matchup.... one is 2-0 one is 3-0 I think it would be a great brawl.

I will say this ... What a tough group of guys to rank. Especially tha ammys. There are going to be a lot of good pros in this group when they are ready. There is no room for candy asses in this bunch. Props to the entire class of welterweights. Damn this should be a matcvhmakers dream....

Killaking173 said:

I have no disrespect towards Ludwig, but Cronk has been after Sven to get a fight with him for a long time now..

I hope after the Liles fight he will get it.. we all win from that one...

the number 2 and 5 ranked WW will be fighting October 13th's tap or snap.
August 22, 2007

guest said:

well, at 3-1, it's a bit premature to say he is a top WW. Again, he was losing the fight against Odonnell before that late elbow.

I do not condone the results of the rankings, i am just pointing out that they will be fighting in October.

I don't put much weight in the amateur fighter rankings. And yeah, all those AMMYs are out there proving themselves, and their game. I have no problem with how the rankings turned out (besides Thatch).

I hope people realize that the rankings are the voice of the people, not just me.

I like it and I think it is a good litmus of how the cross section of people think. I can pick any fighter on here ammy or Pro and make an argument for them to be higher or lower in the rankings. I think it is finally time for this type of thing. Fact: there are a lot of "good" amature fighters in the ammys. If they were great they would be pros. Many have great potential and will be great. But they are developing there talent and maturing. There are some phenominal potential for match ups and it will be intresting to see how they pan out. Props to Mike for taking a step here and for those who have real heart burn with it. They will get over it. Never hear them bitching when there fighter is number 1 or 2. I love the rankings and the ensuing battles after seeing them. It also gets people discussing the fighters and brings awareness to more fighters and there skills. Once again. Props to Mike and MMA Buzz.

good list and its nice to see thatch on there but my question is where are the other guys from ring of fire and battlequest? everyone on the list is a great fighter or has the potential to be one but theres a lot of talent up north that isn't being recognized on here. theres at least five others who fight in rof that i think should be on the list as well as thatch in regards to talent and potential.
August 24, 2007

ChrisZacher said:

I think that is what Mike hope to accomplish. in no way do I speak for him, but I think he may want ti to where because of people like you, we now no more about other orgs.Hopefully with these rankings we can all become more knowledgable on other fighters.

Send me the names of the fighters. That's the hardest part, just getting the names.

We'll be doing the rankings every quarter (4 times a year). Just let me know who I am missing.

just a few recent names i would say would be chad klingensmith who just turned pro, ben henderson who also turned pro, brad fox, alfredo corona, jeremy mallatere, brad chamlin. not sure on the spelling on some of those but these are guys that i've seen in the last few ring of fires and up in vail a few months ago excluding thatch who is a badass.
August 25, 2007

htk187 said:

just so guest knows, its ben benson who is now at 155 and turned pro a bit ago and chad turned pro after they fought in december. brad fox also turned pro in eagle when he beat jeremy mallatere. he also beat alfredo who also lost to jeremy. brad champlin hasnt fought since december when he and jeremy fought. you pretty much just named a group of guys who have all fought each other or dropped weight classes. gsp is also going to rule koscheck just a side note
